"New renovation project in the quadrilateral of silence."
"Five Arts" is located in Milan in Via Rossini.
DESCRIPTION:
The "Five Arts" project was born from the collaboration between the young architecture studio with a strong Milanese imprint 02arch, founded by Ettore Bergamasco and Andrea Starr Stabile in 2010, and the investment company Borgosesia SPA, in the role of far-sighted client.
In particular, it was Davide Schiffer, CEO of Borgosesia, inspired by an interview with Luigi Caccia Dominioni in which he recounted how in his career he had happened to create some small, very well-finished apartments to which he had given the names of important Italian families (such as Agnelli, Moratti, etc.), who launched the idea to the architects to take inspiration from the great masters of Milanese architecture between the early twentieth century and the first post-war period.
Five apartments, small but precious. A targeted choice of materials, construction details, color patterns and furnishing elements inspired by the style of five great masters: the sinuous lines of Luigi Caccia Dominioni's curved walls, Franco Albini's bookcase-walls, Ignazio Gardella's floor-to-ceiling cuts, Gio Ponti's folding and disappearing walls and Achille Castiglioni's rational approach.
UNIT 01 - GIO PONTI
By using the folding and disappearing walls typical of Gio Ponti's style, the space of the house becomes fluid and versatile. Domestic interiors allow free movement between rooms, replacing the wall with diaphragms of another materiality, such as fabric, which is warmer and more welcoming. The new spatial connotations, together with the use of color, contribute to enriching domestic life.
UNIT 02 - ACHILLE CASTIGLIONI
The design of the domestic interiors of this house is conceived according to the absolutely rational approach of Achille Castiglioni, in order to generate a well-articulated organism. Its essential design follows on the one hand a logic of intelligence and optimization of spaces, on the other it is scenographically conceived to accompany and intrigue the visitor.
UNIT 03 - LUIGI CACCIA DOMINIONI
The design of the house is played on the logic linked to the movements of man, typical of the master Luigi Caccia Dominioni. The living space is embraced through the sinuous lines of the curved walls, altering the dimensions of the house and arousing a succession of emotions.
UNIT 04 - FRANCO ALBINI
The domestic space is rationally and elegantly modulated through bookcase-walls, which give it a sense of lightness and permeability, according to that poetics of diaphragms and transparencies typical of the language of Franco Albini.
UNIT 05 - IGNAZIO GARDELLA
The peculiarity of the architectural solution adopted here is defined by the cuts made from floor to ceiling representative of the vocabulary of Ignazio Gardella, which allow natural elements to burst into the rooms of the house, contributing to the creation of internal landscapes. From the entrance, thanks to the compositional invention of the shaped wall, the perspective is widened and the continuity between the rooms is emphasized.
